R&B Singer Chris Brown Scores Role on The OC

R&B singer Chris Brown has landed a seven episode arc on The OC for Season 4. Chris said the producers of the show contacted his management and he jumped at the idea of becoming a new cast member. His role on The OC is said to be that of a band geek.
In a recent article on MTV.com he says “I play, like, a band geek — I’m really stepping out of my own character,” he said. “I was kind of a geek in school, grade-wise. But style-wise, I was always popular and cool. But on the show I’m geeked out all the way. I’m just trying to be myself and then be the character the role calls for. I don’t look at it like this role takes away from who I am.”
At the age of 17 Chris already has a self-title platinum album to his credit. Other then music videos Chris is relatively new to Television. He made a short appearance on UPN’s One on One in March 2006 and has a movie coming out in January of 2007 called Steppin where he plays an ambitious dancer who is the younger brother of the main character.

chris brown’s music does suck, and i hope that the indie-rock-music that used to be played on tv will still stay and won’t be exchanged with some weird hip hop pop crap

chris brown is awesome, indie rock is dead and it is now time for hip hop and rap to shne, this is what josh schwartz has in mind.
his music does not suck, you probably just dont listen to it, and you are probably just a rock fan.
jeez hes a legend and he will give the oc just what it needs to widen it audience.
and yes i think josh schwartz will swap indie rock for hip hop, because of kaitlin cooper, she isnt like the original kids, she was listening to kelis on the finale of season 3, kelis is ahuge hip hop artist.
so yes hip hop is coming to the oc.

i have no idea how chris is gonna fit in, but i think its awesome that hip hop is finally coming out on the show, cause for the past two years its just been weird nobody bands
He is playing a band geek and does no singing on the show. You wont see any hip-hop type stuff as far as I know.
Josh has always made confident musical choices when it came to choosing which bands he wanted to compliment the style of the show and I don’t believe he’s going to abandon that. Sure he probably hasn’t done one hundred percent of the selecting which is probably how some of the shittier stuff made it into some episodes but it’s been rare and will most likely continue to be.

hahaha you can tell which fans like hip hop. They are the ones with terrible grammar, rediculous syntax and horrible spelling. The OC has ususally always been slightly witty, and mainstream hip hop has no place in a realm of witt or intelligence. Hey, im not being racist or anything but in the whole entire series of the OC i have only ever seen 3 black people.

an accidental typographical error is nothing compared to the lazy bastardisation of the english language. (i spelt bastardisation correctly for me, it is only spelt with a “z” in the USA. the internet is global). Are you actually saying that chris brown is poetry? are you serious? hell i love a lot of hip hop ok, NWA, Dangerdoom, Sage Francis and Atmosphere are my favourites. Those artists are poets, chris brown just dances and has a decent voice, and has people who write songs for him. my friend once said “MTV didn’t kill rock, it raped rap and left it to die in the gutter”. i can only agree.
Chris Breezie is the shizzle! But so is all the music on the OC. No one would really know some of these bands if it weren’t for this show.

Where is Chris Brown a legend ? Wake up people the guy is 17, was on one t.v.show and probably doesn’t have half the acting skill the other cast members got. But to be fair to him, I hope that he surprises everyone mainly because his music is tedious and the “dancing with five guys behind me while I try to appear cool” sort of thing is kinda old ! But come on a legend ? He has one album !
First of all, this is a TV show. I happen to live in Newport Beach and half of the stuff on the show isn’t real. Next, to all of you closet racist. I do enjoy the show and it is time for a new direction to a degree. Last season sucked!! Better to make a change now then wait until no one is watching.

chris brown is POP MUSIC, no different from Britney Spears, Madonna, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, and all the other shit on MTV. not MTV 2 though. you can’t be a “legend” by having only one album. The music on the OC now is fine, if somethings not broken, don’t try to fix it. I’m not a racist, i just hate mtv’s portrayal of how black people should act. I don’t know what genius came up with this, but it’s a great idea. Chris Brown on the OC? Cool! I love both! I don’t know how they will put the two genres of music together (inde rock is so NOT dead), but it’ll be amazing. I know it.
