The OC Lives On At SoapNet

The final epiosde of The OC might be on February 22nd but that does not mean you won’t be seeing any more OC episodes. Thanks to SoapNet you will be able to see reruns of all four seasons starting in April. Read the article below for all the news.
News Article: “The O.C.” will be ending its run on FOX in a couple of weeks, but fans of the show won’t have to wait long for it to begin its afterlife.
Cable network SoapNet has picked up the rerun rights to the series and will begin airing repeats in April. The network has also acquired another teen-oriented drama, “One Tree Hill.” Both shows will debut on SoapNet on Monday, April 9.“‘The O.C.’ and ‘One Tree Hill’ will resonate with our viewers and live perfectly alongside the top-five rated daytime soaps and our other acquired primetime dramas,” says Deborah Blackwell, general manager of the Disney-owned network.Both “The O.C.” and “One Tree Hill” are in their fourth seasons, and both shows attract young viewers that networks are dying to reach. They will air back-to-back on weekdays, with “One Tree Hill” at 5 p.m. ET and “The O.C.” at 6 p.m.
Their lead-in will be “Beverly Hills, 90210,” creating a big block of high-school drama in the late afternoons.
The series finale of “The O.C.” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22.

reruns huh? well i hope that goes well….i love the o.c. but each week the o.c. has been getting cheesier than ever…id say that last weeks was finally what the o.c. is all about…..drama…and an earthquake….one thing to think about airing reruns of the show is does everyone have that channel? some people only get regular channels and dont have cable and the o.c. right now is on the none cable channels….long live the o.c.

it is a shame the oc is finishing, 4 great seasons! but saying that everything has to come to an end at some point! this season has been much better than i or many people anticipated and i am really going to miss it! but who knows maybe one day in the future there will be a new episode showing them 5 years on! or maybe a series!
But the likes of Mckenzie, Brody and Bilson all have budding film careers to look forward to and i am sure we will be seieng Kirsten in Sandy in other shows! so the O.C. will never die!

Face facts. The first season was awesome. It was downhill from there. The first four episodes of this season were awesome but from then on this season too went downhill. There have been a couple of decent eps. here and there with a few good moments. Apparently it’s time for The OC to go. It didn’t have to be this way! Blame Fox for asking too much of Josh Schwarz after Season One to make multiple pilots for the network. Once he was no longer 100% committed (not by his own doing) to the show the writing took a turn for the worse. RIP The OC!

WHY DO THEY HAVE TO GET RID OF ALL THE GOOD SHOWS… I KNOW IT HAD A BAD START BUT IT ALL CAME TOGETHER…. I HATE TO SEE IT OFF THE AIR. WHY CAN’T SOMEONE ELSE PICK IT UP AND SHOW NEW ONES…. IT IS A GREAT CAST OF PEOPLE AND IT IS SO EXCITING TO SEE WHAT THEY COME UP WITH. THEY ALWAYS GET RID OF THE GOOD SHOWS… IT IS JUST TO BAD THEY HAD TO CHOOSE THIS ONE.
It’s sooooooo sad to see the OC go, this was the season that all the fun and magic came back to the show and i love seeing Ryan and Taylor together… they have a great chemistry and i think they make a better couple than Ryan and Marissa as that relationship was all doom and gloom!

It is definitely sad to see the O.C. go…..but there is really nothing much more to go into depth about. The last episodes are truly “giving a close” to all the characters and everyone can see how much the cast has grown throughout the seasons. Re-runs wouldn’ t be the best choice, but unless someone comes up with some sort of twist or plot for the fifth season….the O.C. is on it’s final run.
I am the biggest fan of the show and you must know that even here - in Bulgaria, Europe !!! - we do like very very much the story …So, the show MUST GO ON!

I am very upset the o.c. is going off the air. It has been my favorite show. I have watched it every week, not missed one episode. I have so many friends that watch it too. We always call each other to talk about it & then can’t wait until the next week. Please keep it on, I am a huge fan.

Ok look, I am a 12 year old girl that enjoys watching good soapy dramas, I was living in Southern California(by the OC) and i hardly watched the show. Read on. I was the biggest Charmed fan there was, but when they cut WB and the formed the CW network i lost Charmed. So then I moved to Northern California, and i didn’t even get the CW with good shows like Supernatural and Smallville. So i instantly got hooked on The OC, and i didn’t know anything, now i am a religious watcher. Please dont take the only good nightime tv show away from us. Please, and what about the people who dont have soap net, i mean come on! Please dont take the OC away from us, do you know what you are doing to so many people, i mean really, i look forward to coming home thursdays and watching Summer and Seth and Ryan and Taylor and Julie and Kaitlin and Kirsten and Sandy. The second to last episode was amazing, why cant the writers just add more drama like that. Come on how much more do i have to beg, bring it back by popular demand, i have to ask you please bring the OC back.

Sadly, I have to say, my daughter bought the first season this fall and I was quickly and badly hooked; and I bought seasons 2 and 3 immediately afterwards! It was very entertaining and addicting, even for the thirty-something crowd like me. I am really sad to see it go, now what am I going to look forward to? I thought Sandy and Kirstin were great parental figures and brought order to the show when life’s craziness took over. Julie is like many women who just don’t want to age gracefully, the female midlife crisis…..cracks me up!
Consider bringing it back, or do a spinoff under another name with old and new characters! Marissa’s character did not make or break the show as far as I was concerned. She was my least favorite character, with all her wishy-washy neurotic addictive behavior. It was time for her to go. Some Taylor flightiness and insecurity is hilarious, but the alcoholic, promiscuous, neuroticly poor role model for our teens needed to go. I’ve loved all the seasons, I thought things were just getting good! Sorry to see the OC go,

I have watched all the episodes.. and you just have to go and end the series because the fox network is crappy. too bad. have an online show with new episodes. There is still an OC fan base. I am extremely bummed to be losing the OC next week. I wish the execs would changes their minds and bring it back next year. That type of cast chemistry is hard to find! We love them!
Ok look. I am a girl who is religiously addicted to the show, The O.C. Every day when I go to school, at 8th period, I say to my friends, ” Im so excited for my show tonight!” And they say, “What Show?” And I say, ” The O.C.” And I say, ” ARE YOU KIDDING ME. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE O.C. IS. I CANT TALK TO YOU.” I really should be on medicine because im seriously addicted to the show. I have watched every single episode since the pilot episode on August 9th, 2004. The episodes, “The Shake Up”, and ” The Night Moves”, were amazing. The best ever. At the end of the episode, ” The Night Moves”, yesterday, when it showed the preivew for the series finalle “The End Is Not Near, It’s Here”,yes I have connections, I got major chills. I even cried, tears of joy, that it was going to be a good ending, non of the nonsence or bad guys, or deaths, that it was going to be an amazing ending, and sadness, that my favorite- addiction show, is ending.

My husband and I wait all week for thursday nights just for this one reason. We have not missed 1 single episode since day one and r saddened to c our thursday night ritual become extinct. What, really, r the chances of possibly overturning the decision to bring this all to an end?
the reason the ratings for this show took a dive isn’t necessarily because the writing became bad, its because after season ones success they moved it to thursdays. look at the shows it has to compete against now. i mean i love the OC just as much if not more than everyone here but putting it up against greys anatomy and CSI, cmon now. you can thank fox for sabatoging this show.

I think that playing reruns of our show is a really good thing, I have all of the dvds as well. So I don’t need this, it shows that SOMEONE cares. Obviously, we all know how STUPID Fox is being. They are giving our show NO RESPECT. Because they do not care. At least some channel notices this, and is taking some action. Airing reruns is a small way for our show to live on. People who never watched it when it was on, might start watching it.

& i thought this season would suck after marissa got killed off but it wasn’t that bad, although i have to agree that just like in season 1 when marissa took all those painkillers in mexico & would’ve died but they kept her alive, they should’ve done the same thing with the accident.
It was also rumored that Rachel Bilson was going to leave because it was going downhill (which i think its not) & thats probably another reason they canceled it.
All shows must come to an end but not the OC. theres still so many things they could do. please please, just like they did with 7th heaven when they said it was the final episode but there was such an amazing turnout of viewers that they brought it back for another season, lets do that for the OC.

look I love the oc as much as anyone else, it’s very clever and very well made, but we shouldn’t kid ourselfs! Oh come on! I´m from Venezuela and I´ve followed the entire four seasons! I think Taylor´s so funny and I think she´s the best thing that could ever happen to Ryan. This season´s been the best one! Not that I didn´t like Marissa, but she was too complicated. Ryan´s actually smiling now! Just because of that, those two deserve more that just one seaosn together. Please! We need The OC to continue! Please please! Season five has to be a fact! Don´t let us down…

I can’t not believe The O.C. is being cancelled!!! I fell in love with this show when I started watching it back in 2005. I believe ever since the producers killed off Marissa I knew the show would never be the same. The reason the ratings went is because of the death of Marissa Cooper. I am devistated about this and very upset!

i totally ditto what samantha said too. was 2005 series 2? thats when i started watching, i love it to bits, especially series 2. i hate to admit it but series 3 was so hard to watch, seeing your favourite characters doin such rubbishy things that are nothing like themselves and then to top it off with a big, fat slap round the face by killing a main charater is just pretty pathetic.
although i cant bare the thought of the oc being no more i dont think i could of hacked it if they had gone on for ages with no marissa.
the way that it turned out is the best of what could of happened under the circumstances of a main character dying and the show ending. the way i try to look at it is that marissa gets a big send off while all the others dont and we dont end up with too much ‘marissa withdrawal symtoms’
because the storyline isnt that similar to before (at college ext)and with new people we are kind of distracted from noticing before were given chance for it to feel too bad without her and then it ends.(or at least thats what i think so far but im only up to 4.05, so i’ll proberly feel different closer to the end)

Im happy that there is actually re- runs…. But I am still going to miss the show dearly. TOMORROW MY FAVORITE SHOW IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IS ENDING… WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? My mom, my sister, and I made a pact that we are going to where black tomorrow. I think the producers rushed through the series finale way too fast. I mean, at least they could have made it 2 hours instead of ONLY 1! They are making a big mistake cancelling the O.C. I look forward to O.C Thursdays, and they need to have a season 5 AT LEAST! If they dont want it on FOX, which I cant see why they wouldnt, then put it on another channel! This is SOOOOOOO STUPID! im a loyal O.C fan, and ive been there since the very first episode faithfully, and for them to cancel it like this, its SOOOOOOOO SAD and ridiculous! BRING THE O.C BACK! I totally agree with jackie about how they could come back on with their new lives in berkley. I mean we didn’t even get to know the newborn. and it never said what become or ryan and taylor. Plus if they brougth it back ryan could take in that boy who he asked if he needed help and he could do the same thing sandy did for him. I woke up this morning and felt like my life was over now that the show has ended,like a part of it had left. I feel like someone close to me has died. I cried last night maybe more than i should have but who can help it when a great show comes along that youve been watching since you were 10 years old and you had to turn it down really low in your bedroom and watch it secretly because your parents thought it was a soap opera and it was to complex for your age. I will miss the characters and music. I don’t want it to come back however because it would just be weird now and pointless. I will however be buying all the dvds and murchandise if i ever see any!!! i have nothing to do with my thursday nights now i only started watching this season but i rented all the seasons and fell in love with it and it’s actors. i dont see why it got cancelled it was THE best show on TV. there might have been alot of people who didn’t like it but what about all of the people who loved or liked it what is gonna happen to our thursday nights. i wa always looking forward to thursday night because that day at school we have all four academics in a row.

Everybody knows that the OC kicked some serious butt. It was an awesome show, that ran at such a pace that if you blinked for a second you’d miss a legit part of that episode. I for one, apparently like many others, am very sad to see the show being canceled after only the 4th season. However, as I too wish the show hadn’t gotten canceled, what else could have happened? Pretty much everything happened that possibly could have. In my opinion, the show definitely jumped the shark when they killed Marissa off. It was some what obvious that the 4th season consisted of constant writers block because of all the random stuff they made happen– not to say it didn’t conclude the show with a powerful, awesome ending. The series finally of the show provided the perfect closure for all OC fans. A great aspect of it was how at the end they showed Summer leaving Seth, and then later on showed their true destiny: their marriage. That was an important part of the closure that I believed every OC fan needed to see. Another great aspect of the series finally is that Julie goes to school, and that she for the first time ever, doesn’t just marry somebody, she decides to figure things out for herself!! To the “mom” that said she disliked Marissa - There are times when after seeing Taylor in the 4th season i’d have to agree. While Taylor was extremely bubbly and passionate about Ryan [always trying her hardest to please him and make their relationship viable], there were other times looking back on the previous seasons that Ryan and Marissa didn’t have to try nearly as hard to make their love and passion for one another obvious. After watching the finally, I thought they needed to add more Marissa into it. The most devastating episode [in my opinion, more so then “The End’s Not Near, It’s Here] was when Marissa was killed off the show; they definitely didn’t pay her enough homage in the last episode. All and all, The OC was an amazing teen-drama. It had phenominal music, introducing new bands, and playing a lot of good “garage band” types of songs. I will always continue to watch the re-runs of season 1-3 I have on DVD’s because even from just watching the show i’ve learned crutial life lessons.

As I’m writing this I’m crying. I just watched the last episode and it makes me so sad that I won’t be seeing anymore the oc episodes. I hope that somehow the oc will be continued!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!!!! I love this show so much it is one of my favorite to watch. In the last episode seeing Ryan’s past memories in the show made me so sad. This was such a good show and I hope it comes back.

I not even a teenager and I looked that show. I looked forward to it every week. Now that the show if off air, I feel like a part of me died. It was the only show I enjoyed watching. I hate when all the stupid shows stay on but the OC was great. Who ever took the show off air should be fired.

Me and my husband both loved The O.C. and was hoping to see another season air. I thought that the show had a great story line and we never missed an episode. I hope that there will be a chance in the future for another season. We are going to miss The O.C.
